ITINERARY

Day 1

Arrival at Cancun’s airport, where your Traveling Personal Assistant (TPA) will contact and transport you to Playa del Carmen City where we will offer you a warm stay. Overnight Playa del Carmen

Day 2

Before the crowds arrive, we will visit the worldwide famous and exotic Tulum Archaeological Site to continue to the Felipe Carrillo Puerto small town and delight typical regional food and follow the southern route to arrive to the magical town of Bacalar. Overnight Bacalar.

Day 3

In this beautiful town located next to the 7 color Lagoon, we will visit the pirate’s museum and we will navigate and enjoy the magic and natural colors of this lagoon, to later visit Chetumal City and in the same day arrive to Calakmul’s Natural Reserve. Overnight Calakmul

Day 4

Today, early visit into Calakmul’s archaeologic zone for later arrive into the beautiful state of Chiapas in Palenque City. Overnight  Palenque


Day 5

We arise at the foot of Palenque Archaeological Site, one of the most iconic and wonderful ones to visit its unique museum, exotic jungle and enjoy the local gastronomic to continue into the mountains and meet the inhospitable log cabins adapted among the mountains Overnight Vallescondido

Día 6

At dawn we move to Yaxchilán, an archaeologic site is situated along the Usumascinta River. After we cross the Guatemala’s borderline where and continue to Isla de Flores in the area of Petén. Overnight Petén

DAY 7

This day we visit one of the most majestic Mayan sites, Tikal. We come back to the Isla de Flores to found its history and its inhabitants’ stories. Overnight Petén

DAY 8

This day we will cross Belize’s borderline and visit the archaeological sites of Xunantunich and Cahal Pech. Later, we install ourselves in San Ignacio City where we could meet the mixture of its different races that conform it: maya, creole and negroide. Overnight Belize.

DAY 9

This day awaits a convoy directed by Belizean guards to go up hills  into Caracol’s archaeologic site, in the middle of the tropical forest where we will meet up with several ecosystems along the road. We will have a picnic in the inhospitable reserve and come back to Belize. Overnight Belize

DAY 10

We come back to Guatemala side, heading South to one of the most astonishing rivers in the region, Rio Dulce to navigate by the magical scenarios full of life, hundreds of birds, communities settled by the river up to the river mouth with the Caribbean Sea to Livingston Town where its culture Garifuna awaits to give us the best welcome with its own and unique style. Overnight Livingston.

DAY 11

During the morning, we board our speed boat into Guatemala’s most important maritime port: Puerto Barrios, and continue the road to become witnesses of the sculpted texts by the Maya, the archaeologic site of Quiriguá. During the afternoon, Honduras await for us with its magical town of Copán where we will spend the night. Overnight Copán, Honduras.

Day 12

The visit to Copán’s archaeologic site during the whole morning, marks the end of the visits to these astonishing Mayan archaeologic sites of our whole journey and we open to the visual spectacle of all the new mayan communities that the next day we will witness on our way back to Guatemala. Overnight  Copán, Honduras

Day 13

We will drive to reach the high mountains at the center of the country,  arriving into one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Central America: the Ancient Guatemala, where we will meet most part of its history, how it was founded in the Conquest times and we will meet at the same time all the surrounding volcanoes and the history of the polemic Volcán de Fuego, which recently had been found active affecting several communities. Farewell dinner. Overnight Antigua City.

We are proud of our Personal Travel Assistant. Their expertise, commitment and sensitivity to our travelers as well as the people and environments we visit are the reasons we get such great feedback on our PTA from our past travelers. The aim of the PTA is to take the hassle out of your travels and to help you have the best trip possible. Mayan World Travels endeavour to provide the services of an experienced PTA and he or she will provide information on the places you are travelling through, offer suggestions for things to do and see, recommend local eating places and introduce you to our local friends.
